Student Volunteering
Volunteering gives you an opportunity to change lives, including your own. Every year, thousands of youth help their community through volunteer service. Students clean creeks, serve the hungry, tutor children, and contribute in so many other ways. There are 200+ volunteer opportunities available to youth ages 13-17 in the East Bay.
For volunteer opportunities for youth 12 years old and younger, please visit Family Volunteering for information about volunteer projects for children.
Student Volunteer Projects in Alameda County
We’re starting a student volunteer group in Alameda County that will provide high school students an opportunity to earn community service hours, develop their leadership skills, learn about the needs of their community and meet other like-minded teens.
From January through May 2012 the group will participate in four volunteer projects designed to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the needs of their community. Projects will range from environmental clean-ups to sorting and packing food at local food banks.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities in 2012:
- February 11th – Medshare, San Leandro
- March 10th – Tri-City Volunteers, Fremont
- April 22nd – Save the Bay & East Bay Regional Park District, Oakland
