Search for Opportunities – VCEB website closing January 2017
Tips for an Effective Search:
Our search function provides several different ways to filter available volunteer projects. The best way to start is a zip code based search, selecting the radius of miles from home you’re willing to travel, and 1-2 categories that describe your interest(s) and who you are.
First log on to our advanced search page: https://volunteer.truist.com/vccc/volunteer/search.aspx
To segment volunteer information based on who you are, choose an option under “I am interested in opportunities available to…”
- Families with small children will have better luck finding appropriate projects when they search for opportunities available to both “Children (5-12)” and “Families.”
- Students should look for opportunities available to Adolescents (13-17) but be sure to read the description to see if a more specific minimum age requirement is listed.
- Need to fulfill court-ordered community service? Check the Court-Appointed box.
If you’re uncertain how you want to help, consider starting with our Volunteer Categories such as animals, or environment, etc.
